End of the Wall dance performance

  •

End of the Wall is a dance piece that demonstrates a meeting point between two groups of dance artists from two different countries - Israel and India, searching for the best way to communicate with each other and work together through mental, cultural and physical boundaries and barriers.

The relationship between the two groups is being maintained, thanks to different technological means which are functioning as tools for us to cross and overcome the boundaries between us. Hence, the performance includes a projection of life events that happens on the stage in Israel and in India at the exact same time.

The performance takes place on two different stages – one in Israel and one in India - at the same time. The dancers are communicating through the Skype format – which is projected on the back wall of the stage. An illusion of one stage occurs – a mutual time and space is created, in spite of the existing physical barrier. The dancers find ways to get to know each other and communicate with each other beyond the mental, cultural, and geographical walls between them.

"End of the wall" brings out the similarities between artists from different countries that share similar issues such as minorities, importance of family, religion and political complexity. That fades out the obvious barriers between each person and their background, religion, class and culture/
